Khuli Chana Finds Out That Wyclef Jean Is His Fan. Wyclef came to France for a talk at the 2017 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity Creativity.
Motswako rapper Khuli Chana is making an impression overseas. The rapper just had the opportunity to collaborate with previous Fugees lead man, Wyclef Jean.
The Hape Le Hape star was in Cannes, France not so long ago when crossed paths with Wyclef Jean. Wyclef turned to out to be a fan of Khuli’s music. The motswako rapper didn’t think that the person he listened to actually knew who he was or his music.
“I was on my way to a Shazam talk, and ran into one of my idols, Wyclef of the Fugees. I was a little star-struck but what was crazy was his reaction when he saw me, priceless. He actually hollered me, he showed me love, and then he quoted one of my lines from the One Source joint: ‘Africa’s no longer riding shotgun,'” Khuli Chanakyapuri said in an Instagram post.
Wyclef came to France for a talk at the 2017 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity Creativity. The Fugees front man persisted on taking the motswako rapper along with him. After their Cannes Lion International talk, the singer asked the motswako rapper to go on stage with him for a live performance.
Khuli also won at the festival’s awards event. The rapper received two silver awards and one gold award for his One Source Music Video project. According to Tshisa Live, the rapper says that it was a sweet victory after the sadness of leaving the South African award events with nothing this year.
Khuli rubbed shoulders with creative individuals from all over the world. He says that he is truly inspired by the way each one of them think.
