At 14:20 Tuesday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a collision onnthe M4 between La Lucia and Umhlanga.
Reports indicate that a car and truck were involved in the collision.
On scene with Netcare 911 was Emer-G-Med, Durban North SAPS, KZN VIP Ambulance, Ethekwini Fire and Rescue and Marshall Security.
The only patient, an adult female had sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene by an Emergency Care Practitioner while the fire and rescue services used hydraulic tools to free lady stuck in the car.
Once stabilised, the patient was transported by ambulance to hospital for further care.
