The legal representatives for social media influencer Tumi Sole have taken out a cease and desist order for a woman who stated that the lawyer has sexually assaulted her, thereby having her contract HIV at hotel room in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The claims against him came out during the ousting of perpetrators who have allegedly sexually assaulted others. The claims were on Twitter under #AmINext.
The woman accusing the ‘Country Duty’ social media influencer said that he was at Durban in relation to business. They allegedly went to his room, had drinks and then he allegedly forced himself on her, according to the anonymous woman. “Met in Durban. He was there on business. I liked him yes. Invited me to his hotel room. Had drinks. Forced himself on me. He eventually managed to penetrate me,” said the anonymous woman.
The woman went on to say that she is taking ARVs because of the social media influencer. The anonymous woman said: “Now I’m taking ARVs cause of a selfish self absorbed man. I want him to trend until his wife sees this. And wish for the same to happen his children.” The ‘Country Duty’ social media influencer has acknowledged that he has seen the tweets, therefore stating that he would pursue the matter through legal processes.
The legal letter states that Tumi Sole had been getting intimidating electronic messages from the woman since the 1st of August. The supposed mail states that the woman says that she will mess up the lawyer’s private and public life. “Our client has instructed us that since 1 August 2019 you have been sending him violent and threatening phone messages about ruining his public and private life. You have also made allegations that you have attracted HIV from him and will disseminate this allegation into the public domain,” reads the letter. The letter states that the anonymous woman wanted money from the social media influencer in order to stop her from pursuing the intimidations against him.
The letter says the allegations against Tumi Sole are “false, baseless and slanderous” in a try to bring the social media influencer’s name into disgrace. The letter calls her to discontinue “from directly or indirectly making defamatory remarks” about Tumi Sole. This includes defamatory and slanderous remarks. He went on to ask the @HSurvivors2 account to take the tweets against him. The social media influencer also showed people his HIV test results.
