Man Drowns While Trying To Propose Underwater. Steven Weber and Kenesha Antoine, his girlfriend, were staying in an underwater cabin at the Manta Resort in Tanzania.
Steven Weber and Kenesha Antoine, his girlfriend, were staying in an underwater cabin at the Manta Resort in Tanzania. A video recording showed the man diving under water to ask his girlfriend to be his wife. Steven Weber pressed a letter that he wrote against the window of their cabin.
Kenesha Antoine was recording the event from inside the underwater cabin that they lived in. On a Facebook post the girlfriend acknowledged that the man never got back up to hear her answer. “You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer, “Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!” We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as the best day of our lives turned into the worst…,” says Kenesha Antoine.
The resort told BBC that the man drowned while he was diving alone in the water on Thursday. “It is with the deepest regret that we inform that a fatal accident occurred at The Manta resort on Thursday 19 September, 2019,” the resort said in a statement. The couple were to spend four nights in their underwater cabin. On day three of their vacation, Steven Weber junior decided to jump in the water for his proposal. He pushed a noted against the cabin window as Kenesha Antoine watched inside. “I can’t hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you But…everything I love about you I love more every day!”
There after he turned the page to show that he was proposing, thus taking out an engagement ring from his shorts and then swimming away. The staff realised that there was a problem but when they got there, nothing could be done. “I will try solace in the fact that we enjoyed the most amazing bucket list experiences these past few days, and that we both were so happy and absolutely giddy with excitement in our final moments together,” says Kenesha Antoine. The United States State Department offered their condolences to the man’s family. A spokesperson says, “We stand ready to provide all appropriate consular assistance.”
