Man Who Held Workers Hostage At Menlyn Maine Bank Is A Former Scorpion Investigator. On Tuesday, workers at a bank in Menlyn Maine, Pretoria were held hostage.
On Tuesday, workers at a bank in Menlyn Maine, Pretoria were held hostage. A man got into a bank and requested a certain amount of money from the workers. He also intimidated the workers and told them that there were bombs in the complex. This resulted in the shopping complex’s security guards evacuating consumers to a secure place, away from the complex.
News24 reported that the man was recognised by two of his previous workmates as Mossie Mostert, an examiner who used to work for the Scorpions. The two previous workmates stated that the man has allegedly been hurting in terms of money. Since leaving the Scorpions and police force, Mossie has been working as a private investigator at an organisation title ‘Mostert Security Solutions’. The man was allegedly wearing a wig as a disguise when he went into the bank.
According to News24, the man got into the bank with a tool that he stated that it was an explosive device. Captain Collete, the police spokespersons, stated that the note said that he had an explosive device and he wanted a certain amount of money. This prompted the employee to engage the bank’s silent alarm. The K9 and bomb squad units thus went to the complex to examine the tool. The shopping complex was then stated as safe by 3p on Tuesday. The man will be at the Hatfield Community Court with charges of fake intimidation and trying to rob a bank.
