Black twitter had the time of their lives with after the Communications minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams said that she and her husband have never been to Switzerland, only to Geneva and New York. Social media cracked jokes about minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams’ mistake. Most of the tweeps corrected her saying that Geneva is in Switzerland.
The minister at the time was speaking in an interview with eNCA news anchor Xoli Mngambi. He asked her if she took her husband on a foreign trip to celebrate their wedding anniversary. These questions come from a ‘Sunday Independent’ report stating that the minister of communications has allegedly overused state resources when she went with her to Geneva in Switzerland. She denies the allegations towards her.
Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams went on to apologise for the mistake she had made. She says that she meant to say France instead of Switzerland. “A question was asked relating to a September 2019 trip to Geneva, Switzerland. When the question was raised, I erroneously referred to Switzerland instead of France responding to the effect that my husband and I had not been to Switzerland, but Geneva. I profusely apologise for this error as I meant to say that we had not been to France in that particular instance, but in Geneva where Mr Abrahams had accompanied me on an official trip in-line with the Ministerial Handbook,” says the Minister of Communications.
"I've never been to Switzerland.
My husband has never been to Switzerland.
We went to Geneva and New York…"
