A Mondeor High School pupil was stabbed today.
The student was on his way to school when the incident happened.
The student is said to be 19-year-old Kulani Mathebula.
Kulani’s parents arrived at the scene mourning.
The Gauteng Education MEC, Panyaza Lesufi, says that the sight of seeing parents mourning is heartbreaking.
Panyaza Lesufi (@Lesufi) says, “It’s scenes like this, of parents mourning that breaks my heart. Our learner was attacked on his way to school by thugs!”
@iamLovelysm fears the the life of young girls in this type of situation, saying that “if a guy can be stabbed on his way to school, what about girls who can be raped and killed. WE NEED PROTECTION!!! HELP!!!”
@uniStarchild says, “Our schools trend for tragedy and loss instead of victory the new South Africa.
There were more tweets sharing the sadness of the event and sending condolences to Kulani’s family.
The investigation is still in progress.
