Looking at his pictures of Christopher Bowen one is bound to get sad by looking at them.
However, this is what the boy’s mother wanted from people. On crowdfunding platforms that were created to raise money for the boy’s medical assistance Kaylene Bowen-Wright, the mother, shared heart-wrenching information about her son who was supposedly in a battle with cancer. It was hard for her to see her child’s health deteriorate. However, the many messages she got from other people made it easier for her to ease the burden, according to Kaylene Bowen-Wright.
While the supportive messages and crowdfunds came flooding in the father knew that what the mother was saying was all fake. Ryan Crawford knew that his son was quite healthy, he thought that the mother was the one who had an issue. Officials suspect that Kaylene Bowen-Wright from the United States of America shows signs of Munchausen syndrome. The syndrome is a psychological one where a person who takes care of another starts creating medical issues in the person they are taking of as way of grabbing attention.
The woman was able to go on with her attention seeking skills for five years while the father was tirelessly trying to get child welfare authorities to look at the matter. In 2017 the mother was thus apprehended and charged with for the medical abuse she gave Cristopher. She took the child to 323 doctors, she also got him to go through 13 huge surgeries. The tube that she put in Cristopher’s body caused him to start growing really threatening blood viruses. The officials have also acknowledged that she had applied for him to get a lung transplant. Also after lying about him having terminal cancer she stated that he should be taken to a hospice.
The father had no power to halt the mother, he has gone through years trying to make his family and judges understand that Christopher Bowen was not an ill person. In 2012 the father’s visitation rights were taken away after a judge stated that he was a danger to his child as a result of not agreeing to support the mother’s efforts in giving him proper medical care. “It was always the same story: Cristopher is dying. The father doesn’t need to be around because he doesn’t know how to take care of him,” says Ryan Crawford to Fort Worth Star Telegram. The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to recklessly hurting her son.
