MTN Starts First Ever Airtime Service Through WhatsApp. The fourth industrial revolution has been bringing a lot of innovations.
The fourth industrial revolution has been bringing a lot of innovations. Companies in the country have been bringing a lot of technological advancements to their consumers as part of this fourth industrial revolution. One of these is one of South Africa’s telecommunications giants, MTN. The telecommunications company has recently started a WhatsApp site for their consumers to easily buy data bundles and airtime right from the app without having to get out of your chats.
The operation first started here in South Africa, now it’s going to other MTN using countries. The company’s online channel General Manager in South Africa, Gareth Murphy, says the company wants to give consumers appropriate services in order to improve their consumer experience. The online channel General Manager has noted that it has been hard for telecommunication companies to grow in technological advancements. “Simple solutions that are easy to use and which fit neatly into our customer’s lives, will help be a differentiator for us,” says Gareth Murphy.
People can also get to see how much they have in their accounts, they can also save the details of their debit or credit cards in case they want to buy airtime or data bundles next time. MTN is working with an organisation that works as a WhatsApp Business Solution Provider by the name of Clickatell. The company cited Gartner study that discovered that over 25% of consumers will use virtual customer assistant by 2020 to take care of their accounts. Gareth Murphy states that the service will improve the wholesome digital encounter of consumers.
