Multi-Choice Building Cleared After Fire Starts. Multichoice had to have its headquarters in Randburg cleared.
Multichoice had to have its headquarters in Randburg cleared. They had to await Johannesburg Fire Department as they attempted to take out a fire at the offices. The cause of the fire has not been announced as of yet.
Joe Heshu, Multichoice group executive for corporate affairs, stated that the office s that were impacted were all cleared. However, the blaze was solely in the technical area. The group executive for corporate affairs states that no one was hurt. Jo Heshu says, “The fire department is on-site. No employees have been harmed and we expect no interruptions in service or customer care.” EWN reports that the workers at the offices state that the blaze started just after 1pm. The offices were cleared as part of safety measures. The workers would only be allowed to come back once its stated that its secure to go back in.
The amount of damage is not known as of yet. Joe Heshu say that they don’t expect any issues in services or customer care because of the blaze. The fire department has manage to take out the fire. “We can confirm that fire at [Multi Choice] has been extinguished . Firefighters will remain at the building to continue damping down ensure it’s safe before employees can return inside,” says the City of Joburg Emergency Management Services.
