Television host and singer Ntsiki Mazwai went on to Twitter to say the act of sexual harassment is starting to be normalised in society. We don’t know if this was because of the Zodwa Wabantu video that made rounds. The media personality and singer went on to say that she thinks that people that didn’t get love and validation at home look for it in places such as shebeens.
“We slowly normalizing sexual harassment.” She also added that self-love is significant to a human being. “I think that if you don’t receive love and validation at home…you look for it in shebeens. Imagine being groped by izidakwa and you think you’re doing them a service…self love is important in all of this,” says Ntsiki Mazwai.
One tweep says, “…Not slowly but it’s spreading like a wild fire, despite the fact that the topic [is] all over the media platforms, it looks like it is normal cause people just turn a blind eye against sexual harassment.” One tweep spoke about the Zodwa Wabantu incident. The tweep says, “She, Zodwa, has lived with alot of pain. I remember her crying on her show. But then again those men who groped her are rubbish really. Misogyny is a part of our lives. We wake up to fight everyday against it.”
