The swift action by a collective team under the command of Sgt Justin Tyres attached to the Provincial Investigation team and currently seconded to Rietfontein led to the arrest of one female aged 30 and two males aged 24 and 34 respectively believed to have murdered a 40-year-old female on 06 May 2021 in Groot Mier.
Police members attended to a complaint on 06 May 2021 at 14:00 where they discovered the body of the deceased lying next to the house of one of the suspects.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was allegedly involved in an argument with the suspects regarding a bank card belonging to one of the suspects.
After thorough investigation into the case, the team consisting of Rietfontein Vispol, Rietfontein detectives and Rietfontein Border Policing traced the suspects to Klein Mier at a Community Farm on 12 May 2021 at 10:00 where they apprehended and arrested the 3 suspects who will soon appear in the Rietfontein Circuit court on charges of murder.
The Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner: Crime Detection, Brig Nicky Mills applauded the collective team for the thorough investigation and swift apprehension and arrest of the suspects.
