South Africa has been struck with news about the rise of coronavirus people throughout the past days. Some good news came about recently though. It was publicised by the health ministry that South African citizens that were brought back from Wuhan in China have been tested negative for the coronavirus.
It has been stated that they will still be in quarantine due to cautionary measures. The minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, says, “It gives us great pleasure to announce to South Africans that all citizens from Wuhan were tested and their results came back negative for Covid-19. We continue to keep them in quarantine for the prescribed period and will thereafter initiate the process of reunifying them with the community.” At the time, the minister of health stated that the number of victims of Covid-19 had increased to 85.
Out of the 85 Covid-19 victims, six of them have not been outside of the country, meaning these are the first cases of people that were infected within the country. Four of the people are children between the age of two and five years old. The Wuhan victims were brought in into Limpopo after a plan was devised to retrieve them and quarantine them in a resort in Limpopo.
