A pilot passed away at Eshowe in KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday. Paul Herbst, IPSS spokesperson, said the light aircraft that had an accident was still on fire when they came to the scene. The IPSS was alongside police officials and the LenMed air crew at the scene of the accident.
It was also acknowledged that the pilot of the helicopter passed away at the scene of the accident due to serious injuries. “IPSS, police and the LenMed air medical crew are standing off at a helipcopter crash scene in Eshowe. Unfortunately the pilot sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival of IPSS parademics. The aircraft is still in flames,” says the IPSS representative. The pilot was thought to maybe have been spraying pesticide in his helicopter.
The helicopter allegedly might have been having a bad moment and then hit a power line. The local residents of the area reportedly helped save him from the burning helicopter. Paul Herbst says, “Local community members pulled the pilot from the burning, despite them showing no signs of life.”
