GQEBERHA – Focus driven operations conducted in the Nelson Mandela Bay District has proven to be successful with criminals feeling the heat especially after an alleged drug dealer was busted.
On Wednesday, 3 August 2022, at about 15:45, while alert Nelson Mandela Bay District Crime Combatting Unit members were conducting patrols in Wells Estate in Swartkops, they noticed a male walking towards them. Upon noticing the police officers, the man suddenly changed his direction with police members in pursuit.
Police officers caught up with the man and upon searching him, they discovered 20 pockets of crystal meth (Tik) in his possession. The street value is estimated to be about R8500.
The 28 year-old suspect was arrested on a charge of possession of illegal drugs and is due to appear in the Motherwell magistrate’s court soon.
