Police are searching for more information regarding a container that has R85 million worth of narcotics in the Eastern Cape. The matter is still under examination. According to EWN, the cocaine was found in a vessel that was also loaded with bananas. The ship that had the container arrived at the port of Ngqura.
Katlego Mogale, the police representative, says that the container came all the way from Ecuador and was heading to Cape Town. The police representative says, “We are trying to find out where they were from because the vessel is originally from Ecuador in South America and the containers were destined for Cape Town. At this point, we’re trying to find out whether the actual narcotics were destined for a person or person in Cape Town.”
Tweeps reacted to the story of the cocaine being at the harbour. One tweep says, “We need the money let’s sell it as a country and share the money.” Some tweeps didn’t have much hope in the South African justice system. One tweep says, “Is this supposed to mean anything? Police will have it back in the streets in no time. One tweep says, “I remember when Coke worth 100 of millions was found @ Durban habor, on a ship from Brasil, the Hawks came [to] confiscate the drugs after it was silence, I say these drugs are not mistakenly found, they actually have reached their destination, authorities are just there to taker and deliver to the dealer.” Some tweeps hilariously referenced Mzansi Magic’s ‘The Queen’.
