EASTERN CAPE – Excellent teamwork between Port Elizabeth K9 Unit and SAPS Uitenhage members resulted in the speedy arrest of a burglar caught in the act last night, 4 August 2020.
It is alleged that at about 23:20, police responded to a housebreaking in progress at the Department of Education in Cannon Street, Uitenhage. On arrival, a suspect was seen inside the premises. Police cautiously entered the building and with the assistance of K9 Rex, they managed to disarm the suspect who had a knife in his hand. The 32-year-old male suspect was detained on a charge of housebreaking and theft. All the stolen property (that was already packed and left outside the building) was recovered.
