The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga has expressed shock and dismay at the attack and killing of a 79 year old farmer at about 4 and 5 in the early hours of Sunday the 30/05/2021 at Highfield Farm, Maclear.
According to the information three (3) unidentified male suspects age unknown, entered the house through the window and shot the owner who was in the house together with her wife at the time. It is not clear what they were looking for but a House Robbery is suspected. Nothing seems to have been stolen at the moment.
The Provincial Commissioner has ordered a 72 hours Activation Plan to mobilize all the relevant resources for effective investigations and possible arrest of the suspects.
Lieutenant General Ntshinga strongly condemned the act of killing and described it a “daring and lacking heart “ on the part of those who committed this crime. “We shall find them alive to answer for their actions.” said General Ntshinga as she addressed the distraught family in Maclear Highfield farm, where she visited the scene.
A case of Murder has been registered for investigation.
