A vehicle dealership owner is expected to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on Tuesday after seven stolen vehicles were impounded on Friday at his premises in Bosmont. He was arrested by members of the Flying Squad, Johannesburg Metro Police and Tracking company officials. He will be charged with possession of suspected stolen vehicles. Impounded vehicles includes 2 Nissan NP200, 2 Mercedes Benz, Ford Fiesta, Toyota Etios and a VW Polo. The vehicles were stolen in Mondeor, Moffat View, Johannesburg Central, Pretoria West, Akasia and Brooklyn.
Police also seized 19 firearms from the criminals between Friday and last night. The firearm were siezed during routine patrols and crime prevention operations “Okae Molao” in various areas of the Province. Three of the suspects who were found in possession of firearm were arrested at the hostel in Vosloorus following a shoot-out with police. One of the suspects was shot in the leg and he is under police guard at the hospital. The members of the police were not injured. Other firearms were seized at Alexandra, Booysens, Dobsonville, Johannesburg Central, Jeppe, Meadowlands, Khutsong and Rabie Ridge.
