POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, has hailed the arrests, in the early hours of this morning, of five suspects aged between 25 and 56 in connection with the murder of two businesswomen in Polokwane on Saturday, 10 October 2020.
The Limpopo Provincial Investigating Team, the Tracking Team and the Magama Investigators conducted a well-coordinated intelligence-driven operation and succeeded in arresting the suspects at different addresses in Ekhuruleni, Elsburg, Katlehong and Germiston.
The red Hyundai Accent, which it is believed was used in the commission of the murders, two firearms, two magazines and thirteen live rounds of ammunition were seized during the early raids.
The husband (56), of one of the deceased, was later this morning arrested in hospital where he was admitted after he allegedly attempted to commit suicide.
The deceased, Makoena Mabusela-Leshabane aged 46 and Tebogo Mphuti aged 35 were shot and killed in execution style at Magnavia, Polokwane.
The suspects will also be charged with possession of illegal firearms and ammunition. They will appear in Polokwane magistrate court on Monday 26 October 2020.
