POLOKWANE – The Police in Bolobedu in the Mopani District have launched a manhunt for the suspect(s) responsible for the brutal murder of a 21-year-old man and his partner, aged 18, whose bodies were found in their house at ga-Rapitsi Village, Itireleng Section yesterday, 06 October 2020 in the afternoon.

The man’s employer, who is said to be also his neighbour, reportedly went to the house at about 12:00 to check on him after he failed to report for work. Upon arrival, he was met by the frantic cries of a baby and when he called, nobody responded.

He then entered the house and found the couple lying on the bed in the bedroom and their 12-month-old baby girl next to them.

The Police were immediately contacted together with the medical emergency personnel. The victims, identified as Mr Nius Malatji and Lusia Malapane, were found with multiple stab wounds and were certified dead on the scene.

The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage and can only be determined by the police investigations which are continuing.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, has strongly condemned the brutal manner in which the couple was murdered and a team of Investigators led by the District Commissioner Major General Maggie Mathebula is already working hard on the case to hunt down the killer(s).

Police are now offering a reward of up to R200 000-00 for any information that can lead to the arrest and subsequent conviction of the suspect(s) involved in the murders.

Anyone with information may contact Brigadier Willy Mashava at 082 451 7188 or the Crime stop number 08600 10111 or the nearest Police station.
