Powerball Winner Says She Can’t Wait To Drive Her New Car Past Her Ex-Boyfriend. On top of that her ex-boyfriend broke up with her because she didn’t have a top job.
A Soweto woman with four children had a hard time making ends meet. On top of that her ex-boyfriend broke up with her because she didn’t have a top job. She is now thinking about driving past the ex-boyfriend’s house with a new vehicle. However, the 35-year-old R114 million Powerball jackpot winner has to get a licence in order to be able to drive first.
The winner played with R5, according to Ithuba, the lottery operator, on Monday. The woman told Ithuba that she was taken by the long que of people with slips. “On my way from work I saw a long queue of people with slips and I knew they must be pursuing something big, even though I had no idea what the jackpot prize was. I became curious and searched for some coins in my bag to see if I could also play,” says the woman.
The woman bought the ticket from a café in Roodepoort in Johannesburg. She states that she sometimes couldn’t do certain things because of her finances, her family came in to help her. When she couldn’t pay her rent, her brother would come in and help. She is trying to quit her job and spend more time with her kids, since she is a millionaire. She says she hasn’t been getting enough time with her children as she was in Johannesburg and they were back at home with her mother. She is also happy that she could make a delicious meal for her children. “I can’t wait to drive past my ex-boyfriend in my new car. He will probably faint when he sees me waving at him. He broke up with me because I was broke and didn’t have a fancy job,” says the woman, with a smile on her face.
