President Ramaphosa Gets Handed Over 5 BMWs In Fight Against Gender-Based Violence, Confuses Social Media Users. The surge of Gender-Based violence and Femicide has opened a dialogue for people in South Africa.
The surge of Gender-Based violence and Femicide has opened a dialogue for people in South Africa. People have also urged the president of South Africa to help with the violence against women. The president let people know that he is against Gender-Based violence. However, the one part of his fight against violence against women did not seem to sit well with some people.
The Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, reportedly handed over 5 BMW cars to the president for the use to fight Gender-Based violence. “Today, Pres Cyril Ramaphosa and German Chancellor Angela Merkel attended the official handover of 5 BMW vehicles that will be used to fight against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide…,” reports the SA Government News on Twitter. As thoughtful as it was, people didn’t see how the BMWs would help. One tweep says, “What is the link between the 5 BMWs and GBV? I’m slow, someone please help me understand this…”
One tweep says, “A woman is murdered very three hours in South Africa. The rape stats are even scarier. But don’t worry ladies, Cyril got 5 BMWs. We’re safe.” One tweep says, “Who knew that to end Gender-Based Violence in South Africa, all we needed was to receive a donation of 5 BMWs, all the way from Germany. We feel safer already.” One tweep says, “We have 9 provinces all of whom are grossly affected by the deepening war waged towards women of RAPING and KILLING them so, what criteria was used to determine the use of the 5 bmws, who chose them, how? Why them or is this a way to divide and rule to kill the noise.
