POLOKWANE: The Limpopo Provincial Corporate Communication and Media Liaison team comprising of Warrant Officer Marobo Seabela, Sergeant Maphure Manamela and Intern Tshepo Moloto have on Thursday, 11 August 2022 visited the Maruleng Community Radio station at Ga-Sekororo village in the Mopani District.
The trio were supported by Maake SAPS Communication Officer, Sergeant Patricia Shikwambane aiming to mobilize the members of the community about the upcoming Ministerial outreach program that will be hosted tomorrow on Friday, 12 August 2022 at Kanana Super Eleven Sports in Belville village.
The listeners were encouraged to attend the Imbizo in order to engage with the Deputy Minister of Police, Mr Cassell Mathale in conjunction with the National Commissioner, Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe and Police Management to tackle Gender Based Violence (GBV), Femicide and bullying at schools.
In addition, everyone irrespective of age, gender and race will be afforded an opportunity to raise their concerns and also come up with solutions and interventions about these pressing issues which are currently cancerous in the community.
In addition, Sergeant Shikwambane highlighted the significance of partnership policing through Community Safety Forums (CSF), Street Committees, Community in Blue, Young Civilians on Patrol (Ycop) and Community Policing Forum (CPF).
Lastly, drug and substance abuse amongst the learners were strongly condemned and they were assured that impromptu school search operations will be conducted by the police in their respective schools to eliminate any criminal elements that might arise.
