There are many SA Celebrities Who Have Been Arrested For Sexual Offences and whilst some of the cases were dropped because of insufficient evidence, others led to successful convictions. 1. Ayanda Nkosi
Ayanda Nkosi is a South African footballer who has played for clubs Maritzburg United, Free State Stars, and finally Orlando Pirates FC and for the 2016-17 South African Premier Division season onwards plays for Orlando Pirates FC. Amanda was accused of rape after a Johannesburg mother alleged that the 25-year-old had raped her underage daughter. The striker was however cleared of rape charges that were laid against him.
2. Masibusane Zongo
Masibusane Zongo is a South African football midfielder for National First Division club Royal Eagles F.C.. He was recalled for a second trial with Tottenham Hotspur, a high profile team in the Premier League. On 1 April 2011 was released from his contract by Vasco da Gama. Masibusane Zongo was charged with the rape of a 19-year-old woman in Goodwood on 9th February 2013. He was arrested on 7th March 2013 and appeared at the Parow Regional Court.
3. Jabu Mahlangu
Jabu Jeremiah Mahlangu is a retired South African football midfielder who last played for Supersport United. Pule affectionately known as “Shuffle” or “Ngwana wa Tshwenya” — literally “troublesome child” — to his supporters, for his ability to turn defenders around. Mahlangu was accused of raping a 17-year-old Pretoria girl at a Mondeor house in 2007. Charges were later dropped. The rape case against Orlando Pirates player Jabu Mahlangu was however thrown out of the Johannesburg High Court on Wednesday due to insufficient evidence.
OkMalumkoolkat received a six-month jail (five months suspended) sentence in Hobart, Tasmania in January 2016 for indecently touching a female colleague in a Hobart hotel room while attending the 2016 MONA FOMA festival. He returned drunk to the Old Woolstore Hotel in Hobart and was unable to find his room, following which he entered a female artists hotel room and indecently assaulted her. Zwane’s lawyers requested a fine instead of jail sentence but were knockedback as Zwane was scheduled to leave Australia the next day and the fine could not be enforced once he was overseas.
Brickz is a popular South African artist well known for songs like “Sweety my baby” . The musician was sentenced to 15 years behind bars at the Roodepoort Magistrate for raping a then 16-year-old at his home in Ruimsig, west of Johannesburg.
