The South African Police Service (SAPS) is hosting the 27th Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (SARPCCO) Annual General Meeting in Pretoria that started today until to 3 June 2022.
As South Africa is currently chairing the SARPCCO that was conferred to it in 2021 from Botswana, the meeting will facilitate the handing over of the Chairmanship from South Africa to Namibia.
SARPCC) is the law enforcement structure in Southern African region for the prevention and fighting of Trans-National Organised Crimes. The structure was established in 1995 following a meeting of chiefs of police and ministers responsible for police in the Southern African region with the view to enhance police cooperation in the region.
SARPCCO comprises of 16 member countries including South Africa and is the first regional police cooperation organisation in Africa.
