The Saps Provincial Head of Corporate Communication and Liason Services, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo has yesterday on Wednesday, 19 August 2020 visited the scene of mob justice incident where community members at Lunungwi village in the Thohoyandou policing area, torched two houses belonging to the family of the suspect accused of killing of a 90-year-old woman and her daughter aged 54, on Sunday, 16 August 2020.They in the process, also severely assaulted the suspect’s younger brother.
Brigadier Mojapelo conducted a live interview with the Sabc TV and Radio from the scene of crime and condemned the mob attacks and killings by some members of the community even though the Police acted swiftly in arresting the perpetrator. He further warned that those involved in the arson and assault cases will also be hunted down and dealt with accordingly.
He appealed with the community to work closely with the police to avoid this type of incidents from happening again.
