South Africa’s very own Ndlovu Youth Choir is making the country proud. The choir that resides in Limpopo has reached the finals of America’s Got Talent. They gave the judges an amazing performance of Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love” in the semi-finals.
The finalists were announced on Wednesday. The choir also went on social media to announce that they’ve made it to the finals. “We are through to the finals of America’s Got Talent. Dreams do come true . The choir was close to elimination with audience votes but they were saved by the judges. Mzansi tweeps went on to express how proud they are of Ndlovu Youth Choir. Professor Thuli Madonsela says, “Congratulations @ChoirAfrica. What a ray of sunshine, just what South Africa needs right now…”
Newzroom405’s Marc Lewis says, “…To see these incredibly talented youngsters shining on a global stage reminds me of our abundance of talent. @ChoirAfrica you are amazing!” Investigative journalist Mandy Wiener says, “We should get behind this @AGT final like it’s the final of a World Cup. Supporters jerseys, viewing parties, football Fridays, the whole story. These kids deserve their nation’s support.” The choir went to audition for a spot on America’s Got Talent in July. The choir stunned the judges and the audience members when they first won.
