Efforts to curb drugs, illegal firearms and ammunition in the Mitchells Plain area have once again resulted in several suspects being arrested for possession of drugs and ammunition.
On Tuesday 2020-09-22 at about 06:45 Mitchells Plain SAPS members were conducting crime prevention duties when they stopped and searched a suspicious male in Park Avenue, Westridge, Mitchells Plain. The suspect had 21 mandrax tablets in his possession and the 33-year-old man was arrested. The suspect faces charges relating to the unlawful possession of mandrax, and is expected to appear in court soon. In an unrelated matter on Tuesday 2020-09-22 at about 07:00 Mitchells Plain SAPS members conducted crime prevention duties. They stopped and searched a suspicious female in Bonfoi Street, Westridge, Mitchells Plain and found her to be in possession of 50 packets of Tik. Police arrested the 35-year-old female. The suspect faces charges relating to the unlawful possession of tik and is expected to appear in court once charged.
On Monday 2020-09-21 at about 17:00 Mitchells Plain CPU members stopped and searched a suspicious male in Otello Street, Eastridge, Mitchells Plain. The members found three 9mm rounds in his possession and the 33-year-old man was arrested. The suspect faces charges relating to the unlawful possession of ammunition and is expected to appear in the Mitchells Plain Magistrates Court today.
On Monday 2020-09-21 at about 19:00 Mitchells Plain SAPS members received information about drugs at a house in Buffalo Street, Eastridge, Mitchells Plain. Upon conducting a search of the premises, they found ten gram of Tik. Police arrested a 31-year-old female on charges relating to the unlawful possession of tik. She is expected to appear in the Mitchells Plain Magistrates Court today. Ends
