8-year-old golf prodigy Simthandile Tshabalala, commonly known as Sim Tiger, has looked back on his golf game with President Cyril Ramaphosa. The golfer was with the president this past weekend at the Atlantic Beach Golf Estate in Melkbosstrand in Cape Town. The president was hosting the 2020 annual Presidential Golf Challenge that follows his state of the nation address on Thursday.
The golf challenge was planned by the department of public service and administration. The department gets funding for developmental campaigns. The funds that were given this year will be handed over to the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation. The presidency states that the funds that were contributed will assist in building facilities that work well in schools via Adopt-A-School, the partnerof the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation.
On the President’s social media account it states that the young golfer has a good swinger. The President of South Africa states that he could never be close to the golfer. He also stated that the young man was the Tiger Woods of the future. “You could see the drive that he demonstrated here. I could never get close to him,” says President Ramaphosa. Sim Tiger is the 7th in the world for his age group, he also won two of the US Kids’ golf tournament.
Thank you Mr. President, what an hour and privilege to be your partner and you have a beautiful swing too 👌🏽. Thank you for some encouraging words and advice. It means a lot to me and other children. To all the other kids; believe in yourselves, lets do this. 🇿🇦⛳ https://t.co/x4UuukMj41
