Last month President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced his cabinet of ministers. He introduced a decline in the executive cabinet of misters which he decreased by 10 ministers, the ministry went from 34 executive ministers to 28 ministers. He went on to combine some of the ministries that were under him as the president. However, in some ministries there is more than one deputy minister.

Statistics suggest that the presidency could cut more people in the ministries. The study compared the numbers of ministers in different countries. The study also acknowledged the GDP and populations of the countries. In the study South Africa has the most ministers with the 28 ministers and the lowest population with 57 million citizens populating the country. The country’s GDP is also at its lowest with only approximately R518 billion.

The countries that also have more ministers after South Africa are India and China. The two countries have 24 ministers and the population is higher the South African by double. The population in china is 1.3 billion citizens with a GDP of approximately R178 trillion. The population of India is at 1.3 billion citizens with a GDP of R39 trillion.

The country with the lowest number of ministers is the United States of America with only 15 ministers. The country has a population of 327 million citizens and a GDP of approximately R282 trillion.
