A 25-year-old has been apprehended by the police. The person was apprehended in the link of the killing of intern Doctor Sibongile Nkwashu. The person that was apprehended is thought to be Doctor Sibongile Nkwashu’s boyfriend.
Her body was discovered at her room in the Mankweng Hospital on the 19th of January 2020. A person who was visiting at the hospital was told about the smell that was in one of the rooms, thereby seeing that one of the rooms was locked from the outside. Police were informed, thereby breaking down the door when they got to the scene. She was found in the early periods of decomposition on her bed.
Doctor Phophi Ramathuba, the Limpopo Health MEC, has expressed her sadness towards the murdering of the intern doctor. “6 years of studies, hardly 2 weeks of employment as a medical intern, our beautiful, young, smart Dr Nkwashu’s life was cut short at just 24 in the hands allegedly of her boyfriend. How do I face her parents after so much sacrifices and say it shall be well when I know it is not …,” says the Limpopo Health MEC.

The officials have also started examining the reason behind the murder.
