EASTERN CAPE – In an effort to curb proliferation of drugs, Ngqeleni Vispol followed an information about a 26-year-man who is dealing in drugs at Mncane locality Zixholosini A/A in Ngqeleni today at about 00:30. The suspect was arrested after his house was searched and 28 × full Boss Mandrax, 1 × 1/4 Boss Mandrax, 56 × Tik sachets and an amount of R930 in cash were found and confiscated. He will appear before Ngqeleni Magistrate Court tomorrow facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
Lastly, a 40-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of a firearm with eight rounds of ammunition at Buthongweni locality in Ngqeleni today at about 03:50. He will be caused to appear before Ngqeleni Magistrate Court tomorrow facing charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
The District Commissioner Major General David Kanuka lauded the operators and said: “We appreciate the efforts by our communities who always give us information. I urge every police member to have an informer. Together we can do more.”
