WESTERN CAPE – In the early hours of this morning, 26 August 2020 at around 00:45, members of the Steenberg Crime Prevention Unit were busy conducting crime prevention duties in Arundel Court, Lavender Hill when they spotted a suspect running upon noticing the marked police vehicle. The members gave chase and eventually apprehended him. He was found in possession of a .38 Special firearm and several rounds of ammunition.
Meanwhile, yesterday morning, 25 August 2020 at approximately 06:00, members attached to Khayelitsha SAPS acted on information when they decided to conduct a search at a house in Luvuyo Drive, Bongweni, Khayelitsha. Upon searching, members discovered a 9mm Astral Uncetu and several rounds of ammunition. A 41-year-old man was arrested on a possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition charge.
Last night at around 17:00, vigilant members of the Public Order Police arrested three male suspects in the Gordon’s Bay area after finding 355 mandrax tablets and tik in a vehicle they were travelling in.
