The educator who was apprehended due to her alleged involvement in the abduction of 6-year-old Amy’Leigh de Jager at her school in Vanderbijlpark, Laerskool Kollegepar, was allegedly using drugs. The educator, who was an educator at Laerskool Kollegepark, allegedly owed money to drug dealers. This was based on a supposed WhatsApp voice recording from Riaan Botha, the educator’s dad.
The voice recording was delivered to a representative of the family after some time when the educator was apprehended. News24 says the father of the educator acknowledged the realness of the voice recording at the Vanderbijpark Magistrate’s court on Monday. The representatives of the Family violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit apprehended the 27-year-old educator, Tharina Human, alongside two other suspects.
The educator was allegedly the one who planned the whole event of the abduction of the Grade R learner according to the supposed voice recording from the father. “I just wanted to tellyou, so that you don’t hear it from someone else- the mastermind behind the kidnapping of that little girl was my child. She organised the entire thing with the others, but she was the mastermind,” says Riaan Botha in the reported voice recording. The father went on to reportedly say that he didn’t know that his daughter was a drug user.
