A teaching assistant has been suspended after feeding children dog biscuits.
The playtime aide reportedly gave the snacks, which are intended for domestic animals, to dozens of 10 and 11-year-old students at the Upper Frederick school in Pennsylvania, in the north-eastern United States.
Although it’s unknown how many students ate the treats, or why the part-time employee chose to hand them out, it’s thought that she attempted to pass them off as ordinary biscuits.
Student Garbiel Moore told the WFMZ news station that he had eaten three of the biscuits, adding: “She made it look like it was a joke that they were dog treats and then she came around and said, ‘No they are cookies, they are fine.'”
