WESTERN CAPE – Continued efforts to bring those responsible for destroying essential infrastructure to book yielded positive results when members of the Economic Infrastructure Task Team arrested a 65-year-old male for the possession of Telkom cable on Tuesday, 09 August 2022.
The members were busy with a compliance inspection at an identified scrap dealer in Mfuleni when they found 17 rolls of Telkom cable on the premises. Further investigation led the members to a farm in Stellenbosch where they found 500 kilogram of cable. The estimated street value of the cables is R50 000-00.
