Tweeps Give These Guys A Rap Name. Hugo was the one that captured the image that became viral.
An image of three males dressed in Boerboel Wear’s Kalahari khaki range went viral when Donovan Goliath posted the picture asking people to give the males a rap group name. The males in the image were looking at the distance. Tweeps didn’t hold back, with some using Afrikaans words that were sparked by the dressing that the three males had.
One tweep thought it would be good to use the name Wimpie in the mix calling the group “Wimpie en die kokemoers.” Another tweeps one of the names that were constantly used in the Afrikaans vocabulary, the tweep called the males “Die Verleede Tyd.” This may be a reference to the shirts or what is currently happening in the country with the land expropriation. One other user had a twist on the group Francis and The Machine by calling them “Frikkie and the Machine.”
Stephan Hugo, the social media and marketing manager for the company, says that he liked a tweet by one tweep calling the group “Brasse van die Plaas.” The tweet was by Charles Leonard, a journalist. The social media and marketing manager was the one that posted the post on the Boerbol Wear Instagram page last year December.
Hugo was the one that captured the image that became viral. He said that he was trying to fit the guys together into a good picture. Hugo said that Boerbol Wear found the twitter thread that was started by David Goliath pretty funny. The spokesperson says that there is no reason in attempting to choose what must go on the internet. Hugo says “But I think it’s awesome that people went and shared it.”
