NORTHERN CAPE – The Station Commander of Upington SAPS, Brigadier Sampie Koopman commended members who swiftly responded to an armed robbery case. The robbery took place in the afternoon of Tuesday, 18 August 2020.
Three suspects aged between 23 and 36 allegedly attacked a tuck-shop in Raaswater whereby they assaulted and threatened two foreign nationals who own the shop with a firearm. They further took items including cash, cigarettes and a cellphone and fled the scene. The police were alerted and they immediately traced and arrested all the three suspects.
The members also managed to recover some of the stolen items.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Magistrates Court of Upington soon.
Police investigation continues.
