NORTH WEST – Klaas Avontuur (20) made a brief appearance before the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court following his arrest on Tuesday, 19 July 2022 for dealing and possession of drugs.
The accused was arrested at his house in Alabama after members of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation, assisted by member of K9 found him in possession of Crystal Meth, Mandrax and Goof worth approximately R10 800-00.
He appeared before the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court where he was released on R800-00 bail and the matter was postponed to 15 September 2022 for further investigation.
Meanwhile on Monday, 18 July 2020 Chekhuemeli Anyaegbu (44) and Virginia Motswadira (28) were arrested in Orkney after they were found driving around with packets of Crystal Meth worth approximately R5000-00 and R6348-00 in cash. They appeared before the Orkney Magistrate’s Court where the matter was postponed to 25 July 2022 for formal bail application
The drugs, money and the vehicle were seized for further investigation.
