South Africa has been having a huge issue with load shedding because of problems at Eskom. This has not been hurting homes only. The issue has been hurting a lot of places, including huge businesses. The load shedding has also been hurting places that are tourist attractions. It was reported on Monday that the load shedding had a collective of tourists stuck on top of a tourist attraction.
The Table Mountain Cableway went on to social media to speak about the technical problem they were having which affected cable car trips. A collective of tourist where thus stuck at the top of the tourist site in Cape Town. “…please note we are experiencing technical difficulties and cable car trips are being delayed. Our epic team is working on it & we’ll be back to normal operations soon,” said the Table Mountain Cableway on Twitter.
After some time the issue was resolved by the Table Mountain Cableway. They thus stated that they would bring people down quickly as possible. The managing director of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company, Wahida Parker, says power surges a believed to have been the cause of the generator failing. “table Mountain Aerial Cableway can confirm that visitors who were stuck on the top oof the mountain earlier today when our backup generator failed to kick into gear, are now being safely brought down from the mountain,” says Wahida Parker.
