NORTH WEST – Three suspects aged 32, 43 and 45 are expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 July 2020, for possession of endangered species.
The trio’s court appearance follows their apprehension on Thursday, 23 July 2020, after members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit made a follow up on information about people who wanted to sell a pangolin around Waterfall Mall in Rustenburg.
According to information received, the police spotted a Silver Ford Figo vehicle with Gauteng Province registration numbers in the vicinity of the mall. The vehicle was approached for a search. Consequently, the pangolin was found inside the vehicle. All three suspects were arrested and charged for possession of endangered species.
