A 26-year-old lady was severely hurt when a truck landed on her car on Tuesday. The event happened at Diaz Road in Port Elizabeth at about 2:50pm, according to Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst. The Netcare 911 spokesperson also says the fire and rescue team had to employ hydraulic tools to get the woman out of the debris.
The woman was then put on life-support intervention before she was taken to the hospital. ‘HeraldLive’ reports that a file has been opened for reckless and negligent driving with the Mount Road police. Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, the police spokesperson, says the truck was parked at Potgieter Street.
At the time the man who was driving the truck was going to get his child from school, Parsons Hill Primary. When he got back the truck wasn’t there anymore. Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says, “When he returned to his truck, he noticed it was no longer parked where he had left it. He then noticed that the truck had rolled forward and collided with an Opel Adam that was travelling in Diaaz Road…”
