On Tuesday, Babes wodumo announced her upcoming tour with Mamphintsha titled the ‘Bonnie And Clyde Tour.’ The musician announced the tour on her social media accounts. In the posts an image of her with Mamphintsha at a hotel holding guns, seemingly protecting each other from enemies can be seen. The musician also asked if people could suggest promoters in their cities.
“It’s being unleashed, it’s coming to your city soon. Where are you based and where would you like us to bring the #BonnieAndClydeTour? Comment below with your city & tag the best Promoter in your city,” says Babes Wodumo. She also tagged Mamphintsha in the post. However, tweeps weren’t as excited about the tour. One tweep replied to the picture saying “…you’ll be crying that he shot you by mistake.” One tweep says, “Y’all are both cancelled, don’t involve us in your things…I personally won’t attend [this] [rubbish] of a tour.” One tweep says, “On behalf of people from Ekhuruleni [ we don’t want you here]. Thanks try Pretoria.” One tweep says, “photographer was probably thinking to himself “the crazy s**t I do for money” while snapping.”
Some tweeps compared the image to the Reeva and Oscar story. One tweep says the picture was distasteful. The tweep says, “I find this distasteful and insensitive. We all know how and where [Reeva] Steenkamp died. You could’ve done an actual Bonnie and Clyde re-enactment or Mr and Mrs Smith at least. We don’t want you anywhere Sis stay in the toilet…” Another tweep says, Not sensitive if you ask me. For a woman who cried abuse you may not realise that this spits on the grave of #ReevaSteenkamp with this whole toilet scene and guns. Its more Osca & Reeva than Bonnie & Clyde.” One tweep says, “So we are a joke to you?”
