DURBAN – Today just after midnight, a joint operation was conducted at the Village in Pietermaritzburg where the team was following up information about two brothers who were in illegal possession of firearms.
The team proceeded to the house where a man was found in possession of a licensed firearm but he did not have a firearm safe. A further search was conducted in the house and police found two pistols concealed in a bin, which was in the toilet at the same house. Police seized 48 rounds of ammunition.
Two brothers aged 32 and 34 were placed under arrest for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. They are appearing before the Pietermaritzburg Magistrates Court this morning.
