Our endeavours to break the back of the drug trade in the Western Cape has led to the arrest of two suspects on Monday, 21 June 2021.
An intelligence driven operation led police to Drommedaris, Mbekweni in Paarl. Upon arrival at the identified address, two males stood at the entrance and gave permission to police members to search the premises in their presence. When the searched moved to the kitchen of the house, a total of 110 Mandrax tablets, 5 half mandrax tablets and a bucket filled with dagga were found hidden inside a cupboard in a bowl. Two males aged 29 and 22 were arrested and detained. The duo will make a court appearance in the Paarl Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 22 June 2021 on a charge of illegal possession of drugs.
