WESTERN CAPE – To ensure that offenders are brought to book, members attached to the Cape Town K9 Unit reacted on information yesterday following the hijacking of a courier vehicle in Dieprivier. Their investigation led them to a residence in Church Square Lingelethu West where the stolen property was offloaded.
Upon their arrival at the premises a green VW Polo was seen fleeing the scene with three male occupants inside. The premises was searched and various parcels and items suspected to be stolen from the courier vehicle were found. Following a search of the area, the VW Polo was traced and pulled over.
While one of the occupants managed to evade an arrest, two 20-year-old suspects were apprehended and are due to make their court appearances in Khayelitsha on Monday. The hijacked courier vehicle was recovered and the VW Polo was confiscated. The suspects’ involvement in other armed robbery cases is now under our spotlight.
