EASTERN CAPE – Members of Tactical Response Team (TRT) were patrolling along the R61 road at Baziya between Mthatha and Engcobo when they came across a robbery of a Bakery truck in progress on 22 July 2020 at about 15:30.
The truck was being robbed by four suspects. As police approached the scene, the suspects opened fire at them. The members took cover and returned fire. Two suspects were fatally wounded.
The remaining two suspects are still at large and police are searching for them.
