Vehicle seized with tower batteries

Police operations are continuing in KwaZulu-Natal province, with police officers out in full swing to curb any criminal activities.

In the early hours of the morning at 01:00, Eshowe police officers conducted an operation at Maqhwakazi area. The police officers acted on intelligence about a vehicle with stolen tower batteries.

The police officers then proceeded to the crime scene and a vehicle was found. The suspects ran into the bushes upon seeing the police officers leaving the vehicle behind.

The vehicle was searched and nine tower batteries were seized. The estimated street value of the recovered batteries is R270 000-00. A vehicle used in the commission of the offence was also seized for further investigation. Police are still searching for the suspects involved.
