The notorious AfriForum has recently released CCTV footage portraying the Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema and the spokesperson of the Mbuyiseni Ndlozi allegedly assaulting an officer. The event is said to have been at the funeral of the late mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela in 2018. Kallie Kriel, the CEOof the lobby group AfriForum, reportedly says they were trying to show that Julius Malema lied.
The CEO told news24 that “Julius Malema told journalists outside court that he and Ndlozi didn’t assault the policeman. It was important to show the public that he was lying.” He went to show the video on his Twitter account saying that the Economic Freedom Fighters leader is not known for being a truthful person, he also went on to include other cases that Malema was accused of.
Kallie Kriel says, “Video footage of Malema and Ndlozi assaulting a police officer. Despite this Malema says: “I didn’t do that. Mbuyiseni didn’t do that”. But then Malema isn’t known for being a truthful person. He also lied about VBS, firing a firearm unlawfully, On Point etc.” Some of the people had mixed feelings towards the act, with some feeling as if the Economics Freedom Fighters didn’t assault the man. One tweep says, “there’s no assault here I saw a push.” One tweep says, “No one was assaulted chief. Relax.”
